I was instrumental in working with councilmembers in getting the homeless and the growing tent population out of the parking lot at North Beach. I voted against a forced Regional Homeless Shelter with no local control and no accountability.

This must be addressed head on. The City’s first order of business is to protect its citizens and businesses while ensuring a safe and secure community.

 

I have proposed we form a joint powers authority with our neighboring cities of Dana Point and San Juan Capistrano.  From this, we will create a public-private partnership with Solutions for Change, a Vista based nonprofit that has 30 years of experience helping the homeless and their families escape homelessness and return to become contributing members of the community.
